Portions of the Bonneville Land Speed race tracks are still under muddy water or muddy salt. In these conditions, it’s currently impossible to find a 7-mile dry and smooth path necessary for the event to happen.
A new assessment of the Salts will be made on July 20th with hope that the “mudflow” had stopped and that the Salts are drying. If a long track of 7 miles can’t be created, the SCTA (Southern California Timing Association) will try to drag and prepare a 4-mile “Short Course.”
Pre-entrants to the competition will be advised directly by the organizers. Bonneville Speed Week hosts a spectacular week of racing each year in August, which is the highlight event of the Land Speed Record season. The event consists of six days of racing (Sat – Fri), weather and conditions permitting. Entrants come from all over the world to participate in the week long event. Spectators are allowed to walk through the pits, view the vehicles, and talk to the drivers and crew members
