First Look: 2014 Honda Grom - Honda Street Bike First Look - Cycle News

The new 2014 Honda Grom.
If you don’t want to throw your leg over Honda’s Grom when you see the photos and/or the video of the mini hooligan bike scheduled for release in August as a 2014 model, then you may want to check your pulse.
In a nutshell, the fuel-injected 125cc Grom (known as the MSX125 in Europe) looks like mega fun – no matter your previous motorcycle experience or skill level.
At the heart of the Grom is Honda’s 124.9cc air-cooled, four-stroke single complete with four-speed transmission packaged into motorcycle that looks like a grown-up pit bike. Compete with fat (120mm wide) tires on 12-inch rims, the Grom offers up a seat height of 29.7 inches and weighs a claimed 225 pounds.
It gets disc brakes front and rear and 4.1 inches of rear suspension travel from its single-shock package. Up front the Grom gets an inverted fork.
The Grom will draw its fuel from a 1.45-gallon tank and the street-legal bike gets a full lighting package as well as instrumentation, mirrors, etc. The Grom, which is being manufactured in Honda’s Taiwan plant, will sell for $2999 and will be available in two colors: Metallic Black and Pearl Red.
