1951 Harley-Davidson custom by Thunderbike

1951 HARLEY-DAVIDSON PANHEAD

1951 Harley-Davidson
Thunderbike are making big waves on the custom scene at the moment. Granted, some of their builds are at the fluoro chopper end of the scale: German Harley-Davidson specialists are not renowned for their moderation. But the Hamminkeln workshop’s “PainTTless” won the last AMD Championship, and this 1951 Harley has style and craftsmanship in equal abundance.

‘FlyingPan’ is a 1951 Harley-Davidson EL, which means it’s a Hydra-Glide with the high compression Panhead engine. Thunderbike started by rebuilding the motor and upgrading it with an S&S Super E carburetor kit, S&S manifold and Custom Cycle Engineering rocker covers.

Leading the way is a vintage-style springer fork from W&W. The brakes, front and back, come from K-Tech. The rest of this Harley is dripping with Thunderbike’s own custom fabricated parts, from the exhaust system to the bars, rear fender, oil tank and even the wheels. And if the lines of the gas tank look familiar, it’s because it’s a stock Sportster tank—but it suits the aesthetics of this bike perfectly.

Finishing touches include a seat by artisan leatherworkers Maas Sitzleder and a lick of black and orange paint from Kruse Design. It’s a blend of vintage elegance and modern upgrades—with a hint of samurai chopper mixed in.

"1996 Sportster XLH - '1944'

Life is the biggest lottery of them all. And it seems like Dan Kocka from Chicago won the jackpot in the 'Cool Dad' lottery. "I grew up around hot rods and rock 'n roll thanks to my dad who always owned bad ass muscle cars" says Dan. "Dad owned a few bikes as well – an old BSA chopper that was pretty cool." Dan taught himself to ride at a very young age, but was never that interested in building or tinkering on his motorcycles. Until recently, when he was given a solid insurance claim for his hail damaged car. Instead of replacing the car, Dan decided to do something sensible – for the first time in his life – and save the money. That was the plan until he came across a rolling chassis and a '96 Sporty motor on Ebay. "I've been an electrician for 5 years now so I have a decent sense of how things work, but motors are something I've always wanted to learn" he says. So Dan threw himself into his first motorcycle project – and what a project it was.

RoboCop Remake Has RoboCop Riding A Motorcycle

The semi-futuristic 1987 film, “RoboCop,” starring actor Peter Weller, told the tale of fatally injured Detroit cop effectively resurrected to life, but in the form of mostly metal, cyborg-like being. RoboCop was the ultimate crime-fighting tool, and the public loved the premise of the movie to the tune of two sequels, lots of merchandising and even a short-lived television series.
“RoboCop” has been resurrected again, the film that is, and is currently shooting in Toronto according to the Daily Mail. And as you can see by these images from the Daily Mail, RoboCop is now fighting crime on two wheels.
The new RoboCop is sleeker and more menacing in appearance than Weller’s RoboCop, but in the Mail’s article, actor Joel Kinnaman who plays the new RoboCop says the character will be “a lot more human.”

With all the special effects fabrication fitted to RoboCop’s new bike it’s hard to say what the donor bike actually is. At first glance it seems very Buell-esque, as if the 1125R served as the source material. However, peeping the undoctored brake calipers in these photos it also looks as though a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, circa 2008 or 2010, may serve as the core bike beneath the facade.

Sales plans for new $40,000 Quadski land and sea ATV

Gibbs Quadski on the water

After just quick glance in its wheels-down position, the Quadski may seem like your typical ATV, but the truth is that it is an entirely singular concept. Powered by a 1.3-liter four-cylinder pushing out 175 horsepower and 103 lb-ft of torque, the Quadski is capable of attaining speeds of 45 miles per hour on land and on the water. Though quite a sizable vehicle – the Quadski weighs in at a hearty 1,300 pounds and measures more than 10-feet long – the one-passenger amphibian is likely to have a significant range/operating envelope thanks to its 15-gallon gas tank. The Quadski can be driven directly from the land into the water; its four wheels retract and deploy at the push of a button.
